Feed Grain and Cotton Producers and industry professionals need to mark their calendars for Thursday, January 26, 2017 for the Upper Gulf Coast Feed Grain and Cotton Conference. This year’s conference will be held in Crescent Hall at the Wharton County Fairgrounds. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., with our first speaker beginning at 9:00 a.m. The conference will conclude at 3:30 p.m. 4 CEUs will be awarded to pesticide license holders with the Texas Department of Agriculture CEUs; and CEUs for Certified Crop Advisors will be offered. The Feed Grain section of the conference will address the following topics: Southern Rust in Grain Crops, Dr. Tom Isakeit; Update on the Sorghum/Sugarcane Aphid, Robert Bowling; a Precision Ag Speaker Panel; and Feed Grain Economics, Dr. Rob Hogan. A TDA Pesticide Laws and Regulations update will be presented during the morning session. Following lunch, the cotton section of the conference will address the RACE Trial Update and the Potassium Trial Update, Dr. Gaylon Morgan; the Bollworm Outbreak of 2016, Dr. Robert Bowling; Cotton Disease Update, Tom Isakeit; Weed Management in Cotton, Josh McGinty; and Nitrogen Management in Cotton, Dr. Jake Mowrer.
