Virtual AgriLife Rice Field Day – July 9th

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the originally scheduled Eagle Lake Rice Field day set for June 29th, and the Beaumont Rice Field Day that was set for July 9th, will not be held on-site as planned. With the safety of all concerned, a newly formed team of Extension Professionals along the Texas Rice Belt, the Rice Initiative Team, is bringing to you a 2020 Rice Field Day in a virtual format via Zoom.
The July 9th Virtual Rice Field Day will begin at 8 a.m. with an Overview of Rice Research in Texas for 2020 by Dr Ted Wilson, Director, Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center- Beaumont. Dr. Joe Outlaw, Agriculture and Food Policy Center, Co-Director will follow with an Update on Farm Policy. Dr. Bart Fisher, Agriculture and Food Policy Center, Co-Director will address the audience with an Overview of the Generalized System of Preferences – eligible commodities. The virtual field day will conclude with a Market Update and Market Outlook by Dr. Thomas Wynn, Coastal Rice & Futures Inc. The online field day will conclude by 9:30 a.m
