The Matagorda County Soil & Water Conservation District, in conjunction with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension will be holding a 5 CEU Beef and Forage Seminar on June 2, 2017 at the Bay City Service Center. Registration starts at 8:00 a.m. and should conclude around 3:00 p.m. The event costs $25 per person. Lunch will be provided. The five CEU credits offered include 2 IPM, 1 Laws & Regulations and 2 General. The 5 CEU credits will be offered to all TDA pesticide applicators who sign in at the beginning of the program and remain through the closing of the program. No structural credits offered.

The seminar will begin at 9:00 a.m. with Greg Baker, Pesticide Inspector, giving an update on Pesticide Laws & Regulations. Dr. Megan Clayton, Extension Range Specialist,  will review Recent Research in Herbicide Brush Management in South Texas. Dr. Robert Bowling, Extension Entomologist, will address Bermudagrass Stem Maggots – A New Pest to Bermudagrass Pastures. After lunch, Dr. Josh McGinty, Extension Agronomist, will speak about Weed Control in Improved Pastures.
