Squaring Cotton and Fleahoppers

Howdy, This week was drier than last, with scattered showers. A lot of our waterlogged cotton from last week has started growing out of it, and is looking healthier. I have seen an increase in thrips numbers this week, but only 4 of the fields I look at have fewer than 5 true leaves and are still susceptible to thrips damage. USDA Crop Acreage Report Confirms Wharton County Planted Acres for 2020 By Corrie Bowen County Extension Agent Wharton County   USDA Farm Service Agency policy requires that producers participating in several programs submit an annual report, or certify all cropland use on their farms. These programs include Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage (PLC). Reporting also applies to those who receive marketing assistance loans or loan deficiency payments.
