Fleahoppers and Bollworms

Howdy, This week most of our cotton is blooming. We are nearing the end of fleahoppers in cotton, and will very rarely need to treat for them once fields are blooming. I’ve seen a lot of sprayers going out as our fields dry out. The drier weather is a good opportunity to make herbicide applications. Squaring Cotton and Fleahoppers

Howdy, This week was drier than last, with scattered showers. A lot of our waterlogged cotton from last week has started growing out of it, and is looking healthier. I have seen an increase in thrips numbers this week, but only 4 of the fields I look at have fewer than 5 true leaves and are still susceptible to thrips damage. Fleahoppers

Howdy, We got a lot of rain this past week, between 4 and 14 inches across the three counties. Most of the cotton is looking pretty good, but there are locations it looks rough if water stood on it. The places that drained quickly look good.
